Program Options are subject to change. Some activities require teacher recommendation and/or high test scores for participation.
_Elementary School
History Fair - Students research topics of historical significance and create projects to showcase what they've learned. Math Masters -5th Grade - Students develop team problem solving strategies and work on fact drills. Teams of five compete at the Math Masters Competition in the spring. Geography Group - 3rd Grade - Jr. Great Books - Geography Bee - This competition challenges students' geography skills. The school Geo Bee is held in January. Battle of the Books - Students can read selected book title and compete in a school wide challenge. Winners can advance to regional competitions. Thinking Skills - 1st Grade - Revenge of the Readers - MathQuest - War of Words - WordMasters - | Middle SchoolBattle of the Books- Students can read selected book title and compete in a school wide challenge. Winners can advance to regional competitions. Math Counts - 7th Grade- Motivated Math students will enjoy the challenge of this math competition. Meets weekly prior to competition day. Math Masters - 6th Grade - Students develop team problem solving strategies and work on fact drills. Teams of five compete at the Math Masters Competition in the spring. Geography Bee - This competition challenges students' geography skills. The school Geo Bee is held in January. Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl - This trivia contest is held twice yearly. Teams of students work together to get the best score on questions in varying categories. Book Groups - Students can participate in book groups throughout the year. Computer Programming Exploration - Students can develop games and animations through SCRATCH and ALICE during available RST times. Letters for Literature - Students can enter this writer's contest once yearly by writing a letter to a favorite author. The letter must convey how the book has had an impact on his/her life. National History Day - Students can work on projects to submit to the National History Day Competition in the spring. RST Enrichment - Students can utilize RSTs to enrich coursework or participate in enrichment activities online in the Tiger Quest Reource Room. Science Olympiad - Students work as a team to test their knowledge of various science topics as well as their engineering abilities.
